I have a Frigidaire dryer the heating element will not come on. I have tested all the limits and fuses all are good. The motor runs. I have 120 volt on each side of the element not 220 across the connections. There is a power resistor on the temp control not sure what the does. Can give me some advice. Timer? or am I missing something? Thank you much I am stumped.

Here are your parts Parts for Frigidaire GLET1041AS1 Washer Dryer Combo - AppliancePartsPros.comHere is the wiring diagram. http://manuals.frigidaire.com/p...df/Webster/134134500.pdfThe resistor is used during auto cycles. In these cycles the timer motor is only powered when the heater is off. It then gets the full 240 volts. The resistor reduces this to 120 volts for the motor. The first thing to check is the power going into the unit. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly, sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!! |
