Hello, I have a washing machine that seems to work fine when I run it empty. When I put clothes in and run it the clothes are still dripping wet after the final spin cycle.
Help Me Please,
Walter

Hi Walter,

Does the washer shake during the spin cycle?

Does it spin slower then usual?

Does it drain good?

Gene.

Gene, I ran the washer with no clothes in the machine. The washer does not shake when it goes thru a full cycle but, it does appear to spin rather slow. I'm not sure if there are two speeds for the spin cycle, if there are it is not switching to the higher speed. I pulled the drain hoses off of the back panel and the water pump, to make sure there was nothing restricting the water when discharging. They were clean and water seemed to flow freely thru the discharge hose. While on the spin cycle the machine seems to empty completly.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Walter

The washer can shake (some time very much) on the spin cycle (with a clothes inside) if it's out of balance. In such case it'll never go on full speed.

If it happens, you have to open the lid and redistribute the load.

Even the motor has two speeds, there is no separate speed switch on the control panel and you not able to choose the high speed for any cycle.

It will spin on the high speed only when the "regular" cycle used.

All other cycles will provide only low speed for the spin.

Also if there is too much suds, the washer will never drain completely.

Gene.

You probably have a worn clutch and bad brake shoes, or something in the tub.
Shine a bright lite in the tub and look for something. If ok, pull the outer cover of the washer and pull the pump and motor out. Turn the coupler clockwise till the spin basket starts to turn. If very hard to turn the coupler, you have dragging brake shoes or a bad lint filter under the spin basket. Post results.
