Bought a used fridge, got it home and it cooled great for about 2 weeks. Then it started not cooling in fridge then freezer compartment. The freezer had ice buildup on back. I unplugged and opened both doors and let set for several hours, till ice melted. I plugged back in and let set overnight and next morning both compartment cold. Could this be a defrost switch problem. If so where is switch located? I could probably get this from any appliance repair store correct? Don't know exact model but freezer is on top and fridge on bottom.

Could be the defrost control, defrost heater, evaporator fan or low on refrigerant

Ray Donsbach Most likely the problem is a faulty part in the defrost system. In order to help you better I need the complete model number of your fridge. Gene.
