why does hot water come out when selector is on cold and cold water come out when selector is is on hot? hoses are correctly installed.

Hi.

First of all establish FOR SURE witch faucet is hot and cold, trace the hoses to the washer. If everything is OK - then, please provide the complete model number of the unit.
