Hi all,

My washer started leaking from underneath the outer tub. Water is comming from the middle where the shaft goes up into the tub. I removed the agitator, drive bell, and the inner stainless tub. Now I am looking at the splined shaft which has a rubber "boot" around it, which sits right above the lint filter. My question is how do I continue my disassembly? I expect the leak is underneath the lint filter but I don't want to go prying on anything until I'm sure what to do next. I'm guessing a hub and seal kit might fix my issue but I won't know until I delve deeper. How do I remove the rubber "boot" and lint filter?

Many thanks, J.

Sorry for the delay, us servicers are very busy.
You can go to www.applianceaid.com for info on this washer. Rather involved procedure for the tub bearing and seal replacement and you will need a special puller to remove the bearing.
Us servicers whince when we see this as it would eat up a lot of time to fiw while the washer is not worth the amount of labor cost to fix.
