My ice maker is not filling up or making ice. The water dispenser is working fine. We had this problem before and vacuumed out the area under the fridge behind the grille and it started working again. We tried it again this time and it didnt help. I tried all the troubleshooting techniques in the user manual and it still does not work.

Thanks for any suggestions you can give me...

I have a GE profile fridge. model number TFH24PRSBWW

The ice maker is not making any noise and is not getting water to the ice maker. I have replaced the Dual water inlet valve kit, part number AP3672839 and it still doesn't work.

I inspected the Ice maker and it appears that there were no lose connections. I realized that there are a lot of electrical connection in the ice maker and I would imagine that this could be the location of my problem. Do you have any assurance that replacing the ice maker could solve my problem?

Alec,

What kind of ice maker you have - electronic (new style with "on-off" switch and LED) or simple electric?

Gene, I have the electronic style, it also has the on - off swith on the ice maker itself. I took the unit out and it has a four prong plug that plugs into the wall of the freezer compartment. I think this is were my problem is, what do you think. I don't want to order another part and realize that it was not the problem.

If the LED is blinking (while the ice maker is on) - the ice maker has to be replaced.

If it's not blinking and stays on, then the problem most likely is outside the ice maker.

- The part number for the ice maker is AP3853272

Here are the break down diagrams for the GE refrigerator Model TFH24PRSBWW

Gene, what is you phone number so I can call you,
I guess I have an older model, I don't think I have an LED light,
all I know is that when the arm is in the down position (engaged) it will not produce ice, as I mentioned, I already replaced the dual water valve kit and it still doesn't work.
What do I do next?

Alec,

Your ice maker is not the electronic style. It is an old classic electric ice maker.

Did you check the water feeding tube into the ice maker for any frost? If it's blocked, you can use a hair dryer to defrost it.

Locate the two terminals on the wall outlet where the brown and the orange wires from the ice maker harness plugged and check for 120V between them.

Post the results.

Gene:

I have Kitchenaid(whirlpool) electronic ice maker. It just stopped making ice; water dispenses fine. The led blinks all the time, with ice maker plugged in, unplugged and switch off and on. Does this mean the ice maker needs to be replaced?
