I finally got around to returning the new icemaker for an exchange, the replacement is now installed and making ice. IT CYCLES!!!!

So I guess I just got a bum icemaker.

Thanks again everyone for all of your help!

The blinking LED with the optic beam open means that there is something wrong with the optic boards.

P.S. What was the original problem?
