when i first turn washer on, the water inlet valve lets cold water in, then after about 30sec. turns off and hums. I switch the plug ins(little elec. wires) and it runs again, then during rinse cylce, it does the same thing and I have to switch wires back, I've checked hoses, screens and all seem fine, I do not use the hotwater, and the hotwater is turned off from the wall. and yes, I have it set on Cold/cold
thanks Darren

Try this, take the hot water hose and switch it for the cold water hose. Then switch the wires so that the hot water valve will now do the job that the cold water side used to do.
Then try it out, if it fills OK, that means the cold water side of your water valve is going bad.
If you provide the model number I could provide you with better help.

Some of the inlet valves have a thermistor inside. Automatic temp control. If the incoming water is too cold it may be trying to add a little hot to warm it up. Try normal operation with both valves turned on at the wall.
