When our freezer goes into defrost mode it kicks the breaker. It will run about 10 hours and then it will kick the breaker.

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool ED5SHAXML10 Refrigerator - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. Try forcing a defrost cycle to confirm that it is the defrost that is tripping the breaker. If yes unplug the unit and check: P7 to P4 at the defrost board should be in the 20 to 30 ohms. Also check from P7 wire to a ground point on the unit. The wire should be disconnected from the board. If 0 ohms there is probably a short to the evaporator coils in the defrost thermostat. The defrost thermostat must be frozen for this to work as it opens just above freezing. |
