It has been on there for 30years. How can I remove this section without damaging the tub? Bill

If you have accessed it according to either of the videos on page one of this thread, you may want to try a little WD-40 or other lubricant, and get under it with a tie-down strap or similar item, and coax it upward until it breaks free.
Use caution, as it can suddenly release and injure your face, if you're too close to it.

I am still trying to get the agitator off.
I ran the washer through all the cycles Permanent, Cotton White, Cotton Color,Pre soak,, Pre Wash, Delicate and Suds.
The only cycle that engages is the Suds. The rest of the cycles it cilicks as if to engage and shows an agitating motion. If you grab the agitator, the motions stops. You can spin the agitator in reverse with no resistance.
Any suggestions?
Bill
