Washer stops mid cycle-any cycle. When I open the lid and close it again, it restarts, but few seconds later stops again. Is there a thermal cut out switch in this model?

I would start by checking the integrity of the lid switch and the load balance switch. Then if you have the ability to do so, check to see how many amps the motor draws, under a heavy load (jeans, towels, etc.)
