3 year old GE Profile front load dryer. The unit will start up, run for a few seconds and then stop. I have had GE out to repair this unit 4 times now and each time they replace the blower motor because a sensor on it tells the dryer that the motor is not spinning (even though it is).
The unit is now out of warranty and has done this once again.
My question is what could be causing this sensor on the motor to keep going bad? Is there another part that could be causing the sensors to fail prematurely, something wrong with the vent, or is the dryer just a piece of crap?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Mine done the same thing...all it was is where your lint collector is there are 2 metal probes....most likely the wire that connects to this is broken off, fell off ( from vibration) you need to take front off of dryer to fix this...should 1/2 hour total fix.....
Hope this helps

Mine does the same thing after many (well 4) service calls on it. But I did find a very simple fix to mine. I got rid of my GE washer and dryer, I bought an LG. Problem solved. I’m,not saying GE appliances are bad.....oh wait, yes I am, they are Garbage pure and simple. Junk, p.o.s’s all of the above. GE is aware of the problems, and refuses to acknowledge the issue. The parts that have been replaced at my expense are the switch in the door, the high limit thermostat switch, the motor, and the heating elements. Each one with a service call charge, and when I got rid of it, it was still shutting off more times than it would run.
