Make sure the condenser coils on the back are clean. Wait at least 12 hours and recheck the temperatures in both compartments. It's better to measure it, using a refrigerator thermometer.

ok gene i will pull it out and remove the cover and vaccum over the coils. i will let you know,thanks todd.

ok gene still at around 10 degrees and the freezer fan continues to run.:confused:

as of now it is at 15 degrees and rising.

Remove the rear panel in the freezer and check how the evaporator coils are covered with snow. If the coils are clean while the compressor is running, then there is a problem with the sealed system. It can be low on Freon. You have to call a pro to check the pressure in the sealed system.

ok gene i finally pulled the panel off and it is all covered with snow.freezer temperature reads at 15 degrees at thermostat and around 30 from guage.heres a picture of the evaporator.

Check for continuity the defrost heater and overtemperature thermostat (#230 & #240 on the diagram) while they are cold. Post the results. Gene.
