My KitchenAid Washer won't spin but will drain. When it goes into the spin cycle it has a loud clicking noise. I manually tried to spin the basket when it was running (using a screwdriver to press the safety button). I could spin the basket by hand but still had the same clicking noise and no auto-spin.

If it clicks in agitate also, you have a busted tranny coupler AP3963893.

I tried it in Agitate mode and it is working in that mode but it still won't spin.

Pull your agitator out and check for a bad drive block or a loose drive block nut.

Are there instructions on how to get to the drive block anywhere? What do I look for? I did try it again and noticed that, while it DOES agitate, it seems quite a bit louder (the grinding/clicking sound similar to when the drum should spin).

I did pull the agitator out but can't figure out how to determine whether the drive block is bad.

Look carefully at the drive block with the large nut on top. You can see the steel spin tube tabs sticking up. Are these tabs moving when you turn the spin basket. If so, you have a bad drive block. Continual running like this will wear out the spin tube and that job is a lot more expensive than replacing the drive block. You will need a special spanner wrench available on this parts site to fix this.
