Heating element has distorted inside my dishwasher at the left rear corner and burned through the casing. While this corner distorted downwards, the right side past the retaining clips is bowed upwards as is the front side of the element. Nothing fits through the rack grate that can exert enough pressure to bend the element. Additionally, all dishes were clean which means that nothing was blocking the movement of the washer arm during the cycles. Has anyone ever heard of an element distorting and what could have caused it?

Could find no info using given Model Number though I do not think it really matters.
Sounds like the temp thermostat and/or the over temp thermostat did not open when it should have. On top of this the timer may have stuck during a dry cycle.
Also the heater may have had a hot spot.
In any case by the sound of it the unit is toast. |
