Basekt Won't spin or Agitate. Nothing is jammed around the basket.

First check the lid switch. If you can hear and feel a definite click when you depress the switch lever with a thin bladed screwdriver, it is probably good. If you don't hear the motor running, check the timer. Check all the cycles. If it agitates and spins in other cycles, the timer is bad. If you can hear the motor running, look for a broken motor coupling. This is the most common spin failure for this design, Part number: AP3963893
If the motor coupling is intact, watch the clutch housing (just above the gearcase, which is directly behind the motor). It is a round housing, about an inch high, and 3 inches in diameter. If it is spinning, but the inner tub is not, the problem is likely a bad clutch. If it is not spinning, the trouble is most likely inside the gearcase.
