I have a magic chef Refrigerator side by side Every 14 mins it kicks on and 7 mins of run time it kicks off. I have replaced the thermostat twice thinking that was the problem but like (clockwork ) it keeps on all three thermostats the same thing. The door seals are good shape with no leaks the fans are find with no dirt built up.Keeps everything cold . Is there a relay?

As a Tech.I'm a little confused. Temps are fine!! It runs Fine, You replaced the same part (which rarely fail,2 times) and still it runs the same. Is it the 50% run time that bothers you? How full is the unit? :)

What bothers me is how often it comes off and on...,no there is not much food.I replace the therm thinking it was bad but it wasn't.

Here is the parts breakdown Model SearchCheck that your condenser fan is running, Check the condenser coils and fan blade to make sure they are clean. Looks like you have a jellyroll condenser coil, these are a pain to clean. If it is dirty down there the easiest way to clean is with compressed air or a leaf blower. Best to do this outside but getting it outside is again a pain. This is how I do mine. Remove the rear access panel and front kick plate Remove the drip tray Roll the unit to an open door Do it on a day that the wind is not directed at the door or it will just blow the dust back into the house. Blow the unit clean from the back to the front, most of the dust should end up outside. |
