Sorry for the delay. Make sure there is gas to the dryer and the gas shut off valve on the back of the dryer is open. I've also checked part #F79 (Sensor) in the burner section of the afore mentioned diagrams it shows 0 Ohms resistance. I'm not sure if the thermostat-heat controll part # f15 in the motor diagram could be the cause. If you think it might be, could you advise me on how to test it it has 3 red wires and one black one. Thanks for your help it is definately apperciated

If the igniter goes on and off and the coils are new but there is no gas flow, then the problem more likely is a bad gas valve itself. The part is very expensive. - The gas valve assembly Part number: AP2138010

I replaced the bad ignitor with a new ignitor and the dryer is now working. Should i even replace the thermal fuse? Assume the thermal fuse is also broken, will the dryer still work properly? Weldon Originally Posted by: Gene

Weldon Weldon, That's what you wrote in the first post: Quote:...Heard the gas/ignitor come on and vent duct was hot to make sure its really working correctly... My advices were based on the information you provided and, assuming the igniter did come on, I did not mention this part. At this point I do not think there is anything wrong with the thermal fuse. I'm glad you were able to fix it. Gene.

Thanks Gene. You basically pointed me in the right direction when i first asked the question, was the ignitor lite? The ignitor was not lite, in fact, when i removed it, the ceramic broke into pieces. Replaced it and dryer is now all good. Again, thank you. Have a wonderful day. I have a Kenmore 70 Series gas dryer that no longer heats. The dryer tumbles fine, so I am getting ready to troubleshoot it. The model number is: 97576200. Are there any suggestions as where to start besides following the steps at the beginning of this thread? Is there a diagram/manual that I can download to help me troubleshoot? Thanks.

Thank you Gene. A strange thing happened with the dryer. While I was at work, my wife did laundry. She thought I had fixed it since I spent a lot of time in the basement lately (working on her surprise birthday gift). So nothing was done to the dryer and it went from no heat to working just fine.

hello Gene,
My gas dryer tumbles with air but it doesn't get hot and the timer only rotates on timed dry and perm press.
I have a Frigidaire fsg747ge model gas dryer and cannot find all the parts you've quoted in your 5 parts list.
Can you help me distinguish these major parts for my appliance?
Or do I need to take a different route to repair my issue?
