One of the door latches broke, now plate neither rotates nor food heats up .Is there some sort of switch on door that activates these functions? Also where can I get a manual for this microwave?

Lanier, If you have a broken "tang" on the door latch assembly, The latch is not activating the door switch(s) and the unit will not operate some of the components(depending on which "tang" is broken). Part number: AP3422263
You will need to dismantle the door to replace the latch, it sounds worse than it is, Really. It usually involves separating the outer door frame from the metal inner door liner, with a putty knife. I don't have a transmittable service manual for you to use, someone else here might ? But , I would reccomend you contact the manufacturer customer service dept. and get it from there.
