I probed it and it came back with 108. When i pulled the cover off to get at the n and l i did notice the white gear was snapped off at the base and when i looked at it there was black marks at the end of one of the copper pieces on the gear.

Sounds like the ice maker has gone bad, but there is a small chance for the optics to be bad as well. I would replace the ice maker first and see how it will work. - The ice maker Part number: AP3182733

one other thing. When i search for the part number you gave me, i see alot of searches coming back with part #2198597. Are they compatible or is one a replacement number for the other one.

Whirlpool part# 2198597 is Appliance Parts Pros part# AP318273.This is the same part. Gene.
