Our fridge is 4 yrs old and the ice maker quit. I tried a hair dryer on the water tube in freezer with no luck.We still get water out of the water dispencer but the pressure seems a little weak to me. I pulled out the fridge and seem to have good pressure coming in from the pipes when i turn the valve on.I pulled the (4389177) filter valve and disconnected the tubes coming from the filter and there was a little water. We just put a new water filter in about 2 weeks ago. I am thinking that either the Filter valve assy is bad or the part# 6266653 module assy inside the freezer is bad. If the filter is bad is it just a matter if disconnecting the tubes and plugs? or more to it.It seems like it would be about a 10-20 minute job. Thanks for your help in advance.

Make sure the ice maker "on-off" switch on the right side is in "on" position. Open the freezer door, press in the emitter flapper door (on the left side) to unblock the optics beam and view the diagnostics "status" LED on the right side. Post the results.

According to your replies the optics are not stable and very likely are bad.

Remove the ice maker and check for 120VAC between the black and white wires at the plug.

Is that easy to get out. Just the bolts inside the freezer compartment?

Remove the wire shield screw from the bottom of the ice maker.

From the rear of the ice maker, lift the top of the wire shield slightly and pull it
back to release it from the ice maker. Press up on the two retaining clips (one on each side) at the bottom of the ice maker tracks with a fingernail of each hand, pull the ice maker forward, and remove it.

Unplug the wiring harness connector from the ice maker.

Do the following test:

Make sure the "on-off" switch on the right side is "on". Remove the ice maker head cover (do not unplug the ice maker). Insert the voltmeter test probes in the "N" & "L" ice maker test points. Make sure the test probes are at least 1/2" in. Push in and hold the door light switch and wait at least 5 seconds before the voltage test. Post the results.
