I'm replacing the transmission and since there was some oil in the center post (the clutch drive tube slides through it) what type and weight of lube should I put in it and how much?

Thanks,

I use light turbine oil, non-detergent available in a squeeze tube from most appliance parts suppliers.
Also, I put some silicone grease under the upper spindle seal. I never pull the spin tube out all the way, never necessary. Make sure you clean off all rust areas on the tranny spindle before installing.
