I tried to replace the control panel on my GE front-load washer and all it does is beep twice. No '---' for model number input. Only two beeps every time I push a button. HELP!

I hope someone can figure this out, not sure if I should return the control board or not. I always seem to have the problem that doesn't seem to have the answer lol.

After purchasing the new control panel, it did nothing but beep at me the whole time, regardless of what I did. So in my frustration, I became patient lol....I let it sit unplugged overnight. Came back to it and plugged it back in around 11AM. And immediately the door locked and the display read "---" as it was supposed to. It appears the new control panel had to get adjusted to it's new home first. =)
