I checked on my washing machine a while after starting a wash because I didn't hear anything and the "Locked" light was on and it was doing nothing

After a few minutes, I held down the start button for a few seconds to unlock it and opened the lid to find the machine full of water. Nothing I have done since then has been able to get the machine to start spinning or draining again. I emptied it with a shopvac.

Your advice and suggestions are appreciated. I am guessing it is something simple.

Thanks!

Do you want to run a diagnostic to see what error codes pop up?

There is only one button-no diagnostic codes-a very basic machine.

There is a sequence of knob turns to put the machine in diagnostic mode which will display the error codes...
I can explain if you are up to it.

I cannot do diagnostics on my machine. A repairman looked at the washer and there was a tiny piece of dirt that got lodged in the fins under the drain pipe!
