My freezer froze up We defrosted it and checked the defroster and thermostat. Both parts checked out fine. We now want to check the defrost timer but cannot locate it. We have looked all over in the fresh food section, behind the kick plate, and in back where the compressor is and looked at the motherboard.
I cannot find this timer anywhere, can someone help?

It is part of the motherboard behind a cover in the back. Only way to force defrost is to install a wire jumper across the 3 pin power connector as labled on the board, line and def. just pull the connector when you put the jumper in. Plug fridg in, if it now defrosts, you have a bad motherboard.
