Westy I'm having the exact same problem. I can find the part but can't figure out how to open the door assembly to replace it. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Taking off the inner door trim accesses the latch. There are no screws in the door trim or the latch. The latch lifts off two pins once the spring is loose. There are pictures on this page that will show how to remove the trim. GE Spacesaver Microwave Handle Replacement Note that this page is for replacing handles but there is a pictrue that shows how to remvoe the trim. Also sometimes the latch will not break but the hole that the spring connects will break. In that case i will drill a small hole in the metal door frame for the spring. Hope this helps!
