Hi, I have a maytag neptune dryer model mde9700ayw which is in need of a power cord. I have a three prong cord from the washer. It has a black wire a white wire and a green wire. How do I hook it up? There are 3 screw terminals on the dryer. The wires running to the terminals are black, white and red, and it has a green ground wire running from the dryer to the frame. Any help??? Thanks:confused:

You cannot use a washing machine power cord on a dryer. The wire gauge is too small for the current a dryer uses.
You need to get a dryer power cord. Make sure the plug end matches the wall receptacle in the house.
You will also have to check the dryer to see if it is hooked up for 3 wire or 4 wire hook-up.
If you go to the Maytag website you should be able to download an install manual for this unit in the support section. |
