My older model LG front-loading washer was not draining all of a sudden, so I opened it up and found a small nail in the drain pump. All of the QC tests were working before I opened it up, except for the draining system, which I did manually. After putting it back together, I'm now getting a 'de' error code (door error) and none of the QC tests are working. I can hear the door lock but that's as far as it gets. I've double-checked my wires and can't figure out what I might have done wrong. Any suggestions for the 'de' error code? Trying to avoid the repair man coming out. Thanks!

DE can be door error or drain error on LG's so either something with your door circuitry is out or the door switch is acting up or the drain pump circuitry has something out. I'm suspecting you burned out your drain pump with that nail it doesn't take much. Check voltage at the drain pump in any beginning of the cycles most all washers start with a drain mode first to empty any water. Should have 120v to drain pump in the beginning if you don't then you may have a main control issue or a problem with the wire harness going to the drain pump. If you do have 120v to the drain pump then ohm out the drain pump and make sure the pump has a complete circuit if it doesn't it's burned out and needs replacement. Check your tech sheet in the bottom of the unit or on the top once you take off the top there should be paperwork taped somewhere in side unit. Good luck
