It opens if there is no detergent in the dispensor. Not very useful. I have cleaned the diswasher. I have tried both gell and powdered detergent. No difference. Only opens if empty. Any suggestions before I call for a repairman would be appreciated. I called the Bosch help line and all they could tell me was to call a repairman. They call that a help line?:mad:

Hi.
Please, post the complete model number of the unit.
Also, when the dispenser is full of soap, can you open it by pressing the dispenser door latch?

Model number is: SHU43C02UC/47.
Yes, when it is full I can open it by pressing the dispenser door latch.

Hi. Most likely the problem is within the detergent dispenser. Also you should check the wiring harness between the dispenser and control board. Make sure all the connections at the control are good. There is also a chance, that the control board is malfunctioning. But this part is no longer available. Give it a shot in replacing the dispenser Part number: 488964

There is no logical explanation to this problem, except the actuator is weak.
If the replacing of the dispenser would not help, you can return the part back to APP.
Post the results.
