I have a major leak whose location appears between the head of one of the two bolts that connects the oven control valve to the manifold. Is there a kit available to fix this problem? I suspect that I just need a new gasket and/or retighten the bolt. Is this correct and if so, where can I get a gasket? Someone told me the bolt should be treated with pipe compound before it is tightend; is this true.

Any ideas you can give me would be great. My stove is in a remote site and its leak forced me to eat peanut butter rather than steak last time I was at the cabin.

Thanks

By oven control valve I'm assuming you mean the oven thermostat, right?

Open this diagram, look at #2 - there are 3 different thermostats for this model. Which of the three looks like the old one? Let me know...

If you can provide any numbers off the old thermostat, that would be even better.

You are correct- I am talking about the thermostate. I am working off memory but the middle picture (AP381358) seems most familiar. I suspect, however, that I am going to have to make a trip to the "bush" and bring it back into town. At that point I will get back to you unless you think you can still help me with the limited knowledge I have. Regardless, I sure appreciate your quick response!
