I have a Haier AES44b. I would like to replace the start relay and overload for the compressor which is an LG ma53lbcm 115v/60Hz but I cannot find the HP rating anywhere please help!!

Is the old start device a large box, or two discrete devices, an overload and small, black or brown ptc device.

Thanks for answering. The compressor currently has a small black start relay and a small white overload. These components are separate. They are very similar to the pieces shown in these links:

Pull off the ptc start device and measure ohms between the two, round output pins, should be 5 to 10 ohms. Also, check the overload, should be about zero ohms.
If you have no meter, either get one, or have it tested.
If you cannot get the original devices, you must be carefull, selecting the wrong items, or improperly wiring them will burn out your compressor.
