We had this oven one year after purchasing it from a 2nd hand store, so we have little history. The oven pilot light comes on when we hit Bake, but it does not ignite. We also smell gas after a minute or two. This is in one of our rental units, so I would like to repair it quickly. Is it most likely the ignitor? Is that something fairly easy for a novice to replace? I would like to do it myself if possible. Thanks for any insight.

Most likely the problem is a bad (week) oven igniter. This job is not too difficult if you know how to handle a simple tools. In order to replace it you have to remove the oven floor and the flame spreader. - The oven igniter Part number: 5303935066
