I have a Kenmore Elite dryer that just quit heating. I checked the thermal fuse in the fan housing and it seems okay. I also check the thermostat, thermal fuse and heating element and they all show continuity (NC circuits). What else should I check to see why it won't heat. All other functions seem normal.
thanks,

Here are your parts Replacement parts for Kenmore 11064992300 | AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. You mention 2 thermal fuses so I am assuming you checked the thermal fuse and the thermal cur-off. I would check the power. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times, sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!! Next try the diagnostics. If OK Unplug the unit and swap the motor and heater relays. I believe they are the same but double check this before swapping. |
