Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 1/18/2008(UTC) Posts: 5		The upper portion of the agitator (clothes mover?) stopped working a few months ago, but the bottom portion still moved. Now the bottom portion stopped working as well. It still fills with water and spins on the spin cycle. I'm thinking I need to replace the agitator drive cam?? Does it sound like I will need to replace any other portion of the agitator since they stopped working separately?? (Or replace any other parts?) Thanks!

If not pull pump and motor and turn coupler counterclockwise. If the tranny spindle fails to agitate, you have a bad tranny.

Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 1/18/2008(UTC) Posts: 5		The bolt under the agitator cap will not come off. When I try to loosen it, the whole agitator turns. I tried holding the bottom of the agitator and turning, but it seems as though something is stripped. What can I do now?

With an adjustable wrench, turn motor counterclockwise to get it into agitation. Now with the tranny in agitate, you should be able to take the nut off. Very unusual to have an agitator strip out though, guess anything is possible.

(I wasn't the one that it stopped working on and wasn't home) With the agitator cap off, I can see that the inside is turning, its just the outside plastic parts that aren't moving with it. Does that make sense? Also, how do I get the washer cover off of a washer/dryer combo unit?

Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 1/18/2008(UTC) Posts: 5		I still can't get the bolt off the agitator and I wasn't able to figure out how to get the cabinet off on this model. Everything I've found only refers to stand alone washers. I found the gold clips to remove the top portion that slides forward, but when I try to pull that out, the water spout is in the way. Any clues on how to proceed?

What is the metal piece that the agitator bolt screws into? Is that the gearcase? It looks a bit worn as well. (And full of brown gunk... yuck)
