The lid switch came loose under the top of the washer cabinet. I have pulled apart the washer and retrieved the switch. However the 2 pcs of plastic that hold together the plastic axle with the spring won't stay together. I need a diagram of how the switch is suppose to be and how to connect the 2 pcs together???? And then reconnect under the cabinet top. Thanks

Hi Faye I cannot get your model number to come up, but I am going to assume you have the regular direct drive Kenmore/Whirlpool top load washer. Anyway, we don't repair lid switches, we replace them. They are not expensive and this way you are sure of curing the problem. I assume you have taken off the cabinet, but if not here is a site which will show you how. Kenmore top loader blues ‎(SublimeMasterJW's Appliance Advice)‎After you get your new switch there are two screw which hold it in place to the top of the cabinet, and the plastic connector will come through (well, you will see on that site) Good luck, if you need more info check your model number and post any questions.
