This side by side fridge - freezer is working fine. Defrost timer is working properly and fan is running strong. I just replaced the Air Diffuser, but no ar is coming into the fridge section. I tested the thermistors for continuity and they (freezer and fridge both) seemed to be good. ?when I replace the diffuser - should I feel air immediatley of will it take time? If not the diffuser - how to test the cold control?

I would remove the freezer back panel and check for a fully frozen evaporator. If ok, open up the fridg door and check airflow from freezer, if ok, you have a blocked air return somewhere.

I removed the back of the freezer wall and it is great. Where is the air return? The freezer is blowing cold very strong.

Are you getting airflow when you open the fridg door?

Check the damper door in the diffuser, might be shut. If so, jam it open with a wad of duck tape, fridg should now get cold. Check the damper door thermostat behind the control panel, might be stuck. You can try a non-resdue contact cleaner available at Wall Mart to clean it.
