Dryer has started making noise during operation. Can a dryer be lubricated or is it possibly another problem?

Not only "can" - it should be lubricated and cleaned inside at least every other year.

Remove the top panel and the front panel.

Remove the belt (before you remove it, draw a picture how it goes on the motor pulley) and the drum.

Check all drum support rollers. Replace them if worn out. Lubricate if not.
