The clothes dryer gas fired dryer will come on and start to heat but after about 15 seconds the flame goes out. I wait for a couple of minutes and the flame will start again but only for a few seconds and stops. I Checked the continuity on the thermostats and they had continuity. The exhaust duct is clear of blockage. Could the high limit thermostat be malfunctioning?

Sounds like the problem is a blocked air flow through the dryer exhaust line, what causing the dryer to overheat and the heating part of the dryer operates by the high limit thermostat instead of the cycling thermostat.
Gene.
