We have a large capacity automatic washer. It has been a great appliance. The cycle control knob is designed to be pulled outward to activate the cycles. When it gets to the spin cycle it will not spin unless you hold the knob out even further (manually). It spins fine when held out. It also sparks when you turn it off during the spin cycle.
I suspect the switch behind the knob. Can I replace the knob/switch unit only? Does it sound like I am on the right track? It is about 25 years old. Will that make a difference?
Bad time of year to be spending money on a new washer.
Thanks in advance for any assistance provided.
