Greetings, I'm a female novice and would like to attempt repairing my washer. I do not know how to take it apart or where to even start. I'll either break it or repair it with good knowledge from this good forum. Much appreciated of sound advice.

We'll be glad to help you, but can you be more specific on the problem?

Thank you for the rapid reply. My 10 year Kitchenaid washer will agitate but and delete the water but will not do the spin cycle. It hums.

Thanks Gene, I looked the part up and wouldn't you know it, the most expensive part. Do you think I could do this myself or do I need a professional?

If you know how to handle a simple tools then you probably can do it. With the price for the part and a labor charge it's going to be too much $$$$.

well then I know you probably can't recommend a product, but can you give me a range of products that would be good for the long durance or one that would be easily to work on if I have to in the future. I had considered paykel washers or a whirlpool.

Whirlpool direct drive washer (without electronics) is one of most reliable washers today.
