I cannot say depends on the following:
Are you happy with it
How much is it going to cost to fix
What kind of shape is it in.

I can tell you that the new units will not be built as good as this one.

If you have to pay someone to do the work it is probably not worth fixing.

Sounds like the clothes are getting between the the drum and the units frame.
Could be a number of things, you will have to open it up and check.
The drum seals.
The front support bearings (item 22 in section 07).
The rear support wheels.

You may as well give it an overhaul while you are at it so also check the belt, idler wheel etc. etc.

When working on a dryer it is a good idea to check/clean your vent system unless you are doing this yearly.

Yes they should but I would take it apart before ordering just in case there is something else that needs replacing.

Definitely needs glides. One glide glided right off of the dryer! I picked up the parts today, and should be back in business in the AM. Thank you!!

A little over a year later and another glide slid off. Do I need to change more parts, than just the glides?

I work on dryers quite a lot and the glides dont normally come out of position until they are worn quite badly. If this one was replaced before and the other one is still OK then the drum is not running true in its rotation. This happens on some dryers when the seals are bad and the drum support rollers are not holding it in proper alignment. On a dryer the roller and/or its bearing that is above the heating tube or element is quite often worn before the opposite side due to the lack of lube or just plain worn out. Sometimes when I take these apart the shaft that supports the roller is also worn badly. Fortunately on the old Maytags the shaft is also replaceable.
Hope this helps. These old Maytags are easy to fix and it is a question of how much money you want to spend. As a matter of interest last fall I bought, cleaned and resold a gas Speed Queen that was 41 years old. It needed minor repairs !!!
