I've been wrestling with my dryer for about 4 hours now and I've been reading posts all morning and tinkering to no avail. So here is what I am experiencing and what I have tried.

When I push the start button I get a buzz/humm but it just doesn't have enough ass to spin the drum.

With the drum removed and the belt off, the motor will start but it does take a few seconds of holding the button for it to kick in and run on its own but with the drum and belt in place it just won't do it.

I am running the dryer right now (because I really needed some underwear) I did it by taping down the door switch, lifting the top cover holding the start button while pushing the drum by hand until it took off. I then threw in my wet clothes and I'm off to the races. This is hardly a convenient way to keep doing laundry though.

I did have a similar problem about a year ago (which is why I had a spare NEW motor) that turned out to be the outlet at the wall. I don't think thats the case this time since I'm getting good voltage at the wall and the machine.

Motor spins freely with power or by your hand? Did you find the belt switch if your unit has one? That will disengage the motor if the belt is broke or if your tensioner is loose

Motor will run under power but takes a few seconds to kick up to running in what I would call the "on" position. If you just tap the switch it won't achieve the "on" and running position. Motor shaft will spin freely by hand when not under power.
