I have a 6-7 year old Duet dryer gew9250pw0. Sometimes (more frequently lately) the display will be off and not respond. If I wait a few minutes it will respond, turn on, and work fine. Diagnostics checked out OK.

It seems consistent that it will respond after 5-10 minutes although I've never timed it. My wife has also reported that occasionally the keypad wont respond when it is running, i had always assumed that she just had the keypad lock on or something.

Any suggestions on whether this is the control board or something else?

Thanks!

Hi.

Check all disconnect plugs at the user interface control and main control boards.
Replace the UIC (user interface) first and if that is not going to help - replace the MCU (main control).

Thew main control Part number: 8546219
Part number: 8546219

Get both of them from APP and return the one witch you won't need.
Here are the breakdown diagrams and Top and Console parts for Whirlpool GEW9250PW0 - AppliancePartsPros.com
Choose the UIC by the color.

Post the results.

Simon.
