The water and ice have quit working on my GE Profile Refrigerator. The lights are still on in the display and and the ice flap opens when I select ice or crushed ice.
The water quit working first, it literally stopped working mid-fill of a cup of water. For a few hours, I could get it to work for a few seconds if I switched to crushed ice and then back to water. After a few hours, water and ice quit working all together.
Any suggestions?

How old is the water filter? If it's more than a year old that could cause such problem. - GE Smartwater water filter Part number: MWF

I'll change the filter and double check. Would the filter prevent the ice from working?

What did you mean "ice"? Ice maker or ice dispenser?

Replacing the filter did not work.
The lights on the front panel display work fine.
When I select water, the light goes on, but nothing.
When I select ice, the light goes on and the ice flap opens, but nothing else. No ice is dispensed.
Bad solenoid? Is there a way to test the solenoid?
Thanks

Sounds like the problem is a bad main control board. It provides power to the auger motor, the ice cube solenoid and the water valve solenoid. - The main control board Part number: WR49X10152
