I have a GE Range, model number JGSP44AEV3AA. The oven has quit heating. The broiler and all burners work normally. The oven ignitor glows white with heat so it appears to be working but I don't know how to test it. Any idea what may have failed or any troubleshooting steps I should take?
Thank you

Very likely the problem is a bad (weak) igniter. You can check it by measuring the current drawn by the igniter. If it's less than 3.2 amps, replace the igniter. - The igniter Part number: WB13T10001

Thanks for your response.
I don't have an amp meter and am considering replacing the ignitor without testing it since the meter would probably cost about as much or more than the ignitor does. Does this sound like a good way to go?
If I were to purchase a meter, is there a certain type or model I should get?
Thank you,

I ordered the igniter and was going to install it tonight. The original igniter has high temperature tape wrapped around the wire nut connectors. I have a couple of questions that weren’t answered in the video.
Can the wire nuts be reused? There weren’t any included with the new igniter. Also, do I need to wrap the wire nuts with thehigh temp tape? I wasn’t able to find anything similar at the store tonight.

If the original wire nuts are made of porcelain then you can reuse them. Otherwise you should order them. You don't need any tape. - The high temperature porcelain wire nuts Part number: AP3440631

Gene
The wire nuts are porcelain so I just reused them. I lit the oven 3 or 4 times without fail so the igniter appears to have corrected the problem.
Thank you
