We had a voltage spike in our home this weekend that completely killed the display panel LED and all face plate functions. I pulled the display panel and tested the 15 amp fuse , the fuse is fine. I noticed on the panel circuit board that a small blue capacitor was burned. I removed the capacitor from the circiut board and replaced it. Now the display board is alive but all it shows is 888:88 which shows on the tech sheet that "all switches are opened". I don't know what that means. The complete board on this unit is expensive. I replaced the capacitor for $1.89. Is there any other testing I can do to determine what the opened switch display is telling me?

Make sure the ribbon cable to the touch panel is fully seated and maybe even clean the ends with an pencil eraser. If the board will not reset with a key press, there may be more serious damage than first thought.

Out of curiosity Brian, the replacement board part says Out of Stock but normally ships in 5-6 days, does that mean its still available but ships from the factory or does that mean it is out of stock and I could be waiting a while if it is even available any more.

Out of stock is usually a factory or issue and can ship very quickly or may be on a back order depending on the situation. It will still be available, just not a same day / next day type of shipment.

Glad it worked out for you. Don't get down south much past Vegas, but if I find my way down your way, I'll look you up.
