Rank:: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 11/15/2008(UTC) Posts: 14		This microwave was recently recalled for a problem involving the door switches overheating causing internal plastic parts possibly burn and cause a fire. :eek: Does anyone know what part or parts need to be replaced to fix this problem. :confused:

I can turn it on to reheat food, but it doesn't heat. I also smell a slight electrical burning smell, but no smoke or wierd nosies. Any ideas? My novice guess is that it has a burnt fuse, but not sure of much else.:confused:

If you see a scorched wire connection on that switch, that's probably the problem. The switch will need to be replaced. I'm not an expert, but I've seen this on 2 GE microwave units. Hope this is helpful.
