Most likely the problem is a bad coils on the gas valve.

- The part number for the coil kit is AP79737

Here are the break down diagrams for the Speed Queen dryer Model HG6009

Hi Gene,
I have this same problem, same dryer (model HG6009W) however.....the gas ignites into a flame only when the dryer is cold.
When you start it up; everything works fine, for about a minute, then the flame shuts off, & the gas valve will no longer supply gas for it to re-ignite.
The igniter heats up to bright white hot, but no gas to lite up. (until you let the dryer sit a few hrs to cool off)
I tried jumping the t-stat, (@ 2 o'clock of 3" flame tube) but that didn't help.
I DIDN'T try jumping the flame sensor AP2910747 (should I?)
Or is it definitely the Coil Kit AP79737 (that you suggest in the 10 mo old reply above)
You've been a huge help to me in the past on a Microwave (I'm the Volvo Technician)
I hope you can help me this time.
The coil kit is expensive, & I wouldn't want to buy it unless it was defilitely the offending part.
Any way to test it with checking resistance?
Thanks,
Al

If the gas is on and the ignitor glows but it doesn't light, replace the coils on the gas valve. p/n:279834 universal # about $15.

Thanks Leithouse.

Yes, it was the coils.
I repaired it in August, shortly after I posted.
I bought a OEM coil kit, which I got for a pretty good price (I think it was about $42).
So I didn't know which individual coil was bad.
But later, I took apart the old coil kit, & individually tested the resistance of each coil & found one to be bad, & the others fine.
I now know to test them individually in the future & would be able to replace the offending coil, for about $12 or less.

Thanks

Al
