When I press the control pad to turn on the bake cycle, it will not function. When I press the broiler pad button, the broiler works fine. When I press the pad for "clean" the broiler unit turns on, but the bake unit does not. My question is, "will the bake touch pad not function (make it's beep noise) if the bake element is burnt out?" The oven was purchased in January 2002 and has been used a lot.

Most likely the problem is a bad Bake pad. Unfortunately the membrane switch for this model is no longer available.

Thanks Gene.
By a "bad bake pad" you mean the heating element, correct?

Well, lets start it over. What was shown on the display when you pushed the Bake button on the control panel? What happened to the Bake igniter at that time?

Gene.
