Vent hood when I push the UP/Down button it will continue to go up and down until I push button again. Would you know whats going on? Do I need to replace the switch?

Jon,

Check and make sure the switch plunger(button) is not sticking, light weight grease or oil, usually works, to clean and lube the button.

Before you repalce the switch asembly

i oiled the up/down-button but did not help.so i must did a new switch.
I used to be able to push the up/down button to when the vent got
top and make it stop. then turn the blower on but i no longer can do
that, is something else wrong.

John,

There's a slight possibility that the gear motor switch has failed or may need to be adjusted,

But, I'm pretty sure once you get the up down switch replaced, and the chimney reaches the full up position, you'll be fine.

John,

You'll need to access the "J" box, remove the cover and check the up/down motor switch and motor and linkage to the chimney.

This is all located in the cabinet, under the cooktop.

Here's a copy of the manual, to help you out.

The control and cooling fan thermal switches.doc (84kb) downloaded 22 time(s).
